Permitted and prohibited use
The data is licensed for personal use by individuals and internal use by companies only.
You may not resell, sublicense, redistribute, republish, share, or otherwise make the data available to any third party, whether free of charge or for payment.
Repackaging, re-aggregating, white-labelling, or embedding the data in a downstream product, feed, dataset, dashboard, or service is not allowed under the standard licence.
Companies may use the data internally to research markets, gather industry insights, and develop or test trading strategies for their own use.
If you start using the data as an individual and later set up your own company, that company may use the data under these same terms.
Keeping downloaded files
You may keep the files you download for as long as you like, including local copies, copies on your own servers or VPS, backups and audit copies.
This stays true if your account or access ends, or if our plans or prices change. The rules on this page continue to apply to those copies.
Storing copies with a cloud, hosting or backup provider that works for you is not sharing the data with a third party.
What you build with the data
Signals, features, models, software, research and analysis that you create using the data belong to you.
You may use them commercially and sell them without an additional licence, as long as nobody can reconstruct the data from them. If the data can be rebuilt from your product, the product contains the data, and the redistribution rules above apply.
If you sell or transfer your project, the new owner may receive your signals, models and software, but not the files you downloaded from us. The new owner can download the data from us directly.
AI tools and service providers
You may use the data with AI tools and services, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic and other major providers, for inference, evaluation and research. This also covers contracted processors that work for you.
Sending data to an AI service or processor that works for you is internal use, not redistribution.
Where a provider offers the setting, we ask you to turn off sharing your inputs for model training.
Where the data comes from
We collect the data from the public market data feeds of each exchange, and in some cases from the exchange's public data archives. The data documentation shows the source of each dataset.
For personal and internal use under these terms, you do not need a separate agreement with us.
No warranty and limited liability
The data and the service are provided "as is" and "as available", without any warranty. The data can contain gaps, delays and errors; known issues are listed on the data gaps and corrections page.
The data is not investment, financial or trading advice. You are responsible for checking whether it is suitable for your use and for any decisions you make with it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the data or the service, including trading losses, lost profits and indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Who provides the service
CryptoHFTData is currently run by an individual and is not incorporated. Access is free, and there is no separate signed agreement: this page is the complete set of terms for using the service and the data.
If we introduce paid plans, we will set up a legal entity and publish formal terms before we charge anyone.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Changes apply from the date we publish them on this page, which is shown at the top.
A change will not remove your right to keep files you have already downloaded.
